Rural kindergartens in Nepal generally require 5 year olds to kneel on hard wooden benches for much of the day. They also rarely have any kind of educational materials or decorations on the wall.
When one of our partners in Nepal decided he wanted to renovate local kindergartens, it was a bold idea and we helped support it. The result? Bright classrooms with alphabets in two languages and basic math painted on the walls plus low tables and carpeting for children to sit comfortably. Sometimes innovation is easier than you think!
